ELLERHORST, William J. “Bill”, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at the age of 97. He was born on March 30, 1929, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Harvey and Helen (nee Thorbeck) Ellerhorst.

Bill is survived by his loving children Nancy (the late Weymon) Forrester, Susan (the late Rory) Clear, Jim (Sara) Ellerhorst, Diane (Larry) Helton, Linda (David) Bunke, Paula (Bob) Fessler and Bob (Cherie) Ellerhorst. Beloved grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 12. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill is preceded in passing by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean C. (nee Groll) Ellerhorst and his sister Mary Ann (Paul) Moone.

Bill led an exceptional life. He had many lifelong friends with whom he enjoyed traveling, parties and many fun events. He spent time in the Army serving his country as an officer in the Korean War. Most importantly, Bill was devoted to his family, especially in the care he gave his wife in her final years. But there was no greater joy than the time he spent with his children and their families, whether it would be at Lake Cumberland or at many family gatherings. Lastly, his faith in God was unwavering and was rewarded with a peaceful passing to his eternal home.
