DUFFEY, Dr. William C., Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth J. Duffey (Nee Redmond) for 64 years. Loving father of Michael, Mark, John Duffey, Mary (Kevin) Sander, Steve, Joe (Elizabeth) Duffey, Kathy (James) Squance and the late Julie Duffey. Devoted grandfather of Monica (Mike) Thomas, Katherine Flynn, Elizabeth (Josh) Lehman, Annie (Chris) Anderson, Alyssa, Lindsay, Josh Duffey, Ella Vasquez, John (Alicia) Micheli, Robin (the late Mykell) Hudspeth, Sarah, Emily Squance and great grandfather of Ethan, Julia Thomas, Justin Flynn, Madison, Bryce Lehman, Gabe, Braxton Anderson, Luke, Everleigh, Jolie Duffey, Johnny and Rosie Micheli. Dear brother of the late Marian (Jeffrey) Ramsay and James (Sue) Duffey. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. William was born in Mount Adams on March 29, 1926. He attended St. Xavier High School before going on to the University of Cincinnati for 1 year and then joined the U.S. Navy. In the Navy he served for over 2 years and received training in Electronics, before becoming the editor of the base newspaper at Port Chicago, California and then on to Line Officer training program at University of Mississippi. William then returned to the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine graduating in 1950, and served his residency at the Cincinnati General Hospital in Radiology, while he also attended courses for Nuclear studies at Oak Ridge. He became certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1954 and went on to become certified the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1973. Throughout his medical career his served as president of the medical staff at St. George Hospital, medical director of Dept of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at St. Francis St. George Hospital, served as president of Med Topes Inc., a pioneer in the mobile transport of technician, radioisotopes, and gamma cameras to Cincinnati. This included Lawrenceburg, Batesville and Greensburg Indiana, Brown, Greenville, Adams Counties, Wilmington Ohio and others. This greatly enhanced the quality of medical care in these hospitals. His final years of practice were spent with the University of Cincinnati Radiology Associates working primarily with the residents in training on a part time basis. Passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 96 years of age. Visitation at Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Road, on MONDAY from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Simon the Apostle Church, 825 Pontius Rd., at 11:00 AM.
