BLAZER, William J. Passed away early Saturday morning, October 25, 2014 and most importantly, he lived 75 wonderful years. He was a truly devoted husband to Diane (nee Hofmann) for 51 years. Loving father of Rita (Jim) Gattermeyer, Bill, Donna (Jim) Groene, Richard (Monette), Craig (Claudia), Barbara (Todd) Logan, Eric (Tammy), Matthew (Beth Ann Schenz), and Brenda (Matt) Witten. Devoted grandfather of Joseph and Rachel Gattermeyer, Eryn and Sam Blazer, Luke Groene, Ambrose Blazer, Oscar, Julian, Stella and Sophia Blazer, Nate, Bridget, and Gabe Logan, Owen and Gavin Blazer, Maya Blazer and Liam and Lachlan Witten. Dear brother of Mary Ann Brockman, Bonnie (Jack) Mosley, Robert (Diann) Blazer. Bill was a teacher, naturalist, coach, mechanic, builder, scientist, activist, NPR listener, mathematician, Civil War historian, bird watcher, runner, gardener, lover of the beautiful game, man of few words but big actions, Catholic, Lancer, fisherman, advocate for the underdog, a life-long learner and dessert enthusiast. He was a strong and intelligent man who lived his life the right way with purpose, love and commitment. Dad, we will miss you and the strength you shared with us everyday. We will keep your legacy alive and always have you in our hearts. Visitation Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Rd on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2832 Rosebud Dr on Wednesday at 10:30AM. Followed by internment at St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Rd.
