MONTAG, Thomas M. Beloved son of Thomas E. and the late Vesta Montag (Nee Venter). Loving father of Jason (Angie) Montag, Chad Montag and the late Ryan Montag. Devoted grandfather of Chris, Wyatt, Michael, Willow, Clint and Samantha. Dear brother of Bruce Montag, Kevin Montag, Cynthia Noelting, Douglas Montag, Kristy Montag, and Steven Montag. Cherished son, brother, uncle and friend.

Tom grew up in Cincinnati, where he developed the strong work ethic, self-discipline, and deep devotion to family that would define his life. He worked hard for everything he built and took great pride in it. He also shared a close bond with his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, loving them deeply and valuing those relationships throughout his life.

He was a devoted father who loved his children and their spouses deeply, and nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren, whom he truly believed “hung the moon.” He showed his love through his actions—always present, always steady, and always willing to lend a hand.

Tom created a childhood full of adventure for his kids. He spent countless hours teaching them to fish in creeks, rivers, and lakes, sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. He loved camping trips, hiking in the woods, and evenings around the campfire with marshmallows and hot dogs.

He was known for his ability to talk to anyone—never meeting a stranger, always ready with a smile and conversation. He treated people with kindness and was always willing to give others a chance.

He enjoyed life in simple but meaningful ways—traveling to warm destinations, spending time on the water fishing, and being with family. He was someone who could fix just about anything, a reflection of both his skill and determination.

In his later years, Tom remained strong, resilient, and deeply connected to those he loved including his partner Jane Yancey. He valued time with family above all else.

He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 69 years of age.
