Suzanne Kammerer

KAMMERER, Suzanne (Nee Mathews) Beloved wife of Leo J. Kammerer for 60 years. Loving mother of J. Bradley, David (Kathy), Jonathan (Kathleen), Andrew (Jen), Lee (Liz), Timothy, Michael (Lauren) Kammerer, Mary Grace (Brian) Faigle, the late Matthew Kammerer. Mother in law of Lisa Kammerer. Devoted grandmother of Lauren, Margaret, Gabrielle, Matthew, Adam, Jack, Ryan, Samantha, Gabe, Katelyn, Jonathan Jr., Emily, Caroline, Andrew, Kaelyn, Ava, Ella, Will, Jaxon, Christopher, Sydney, Owen, Max, Luke and Henry. Dear sister of Marilyn (William) Pellman and the late William (Mary) Mathews. Also survived by her nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was born in Indianapolis and at a young age moved to the Westside of Cincinnati. She graduated from Mother of Mercy high school and met the love of her life, Leo. In the midst of raising nine kids she went to work in the legal industry having worked in word processing for Strauss & Troy for close to twenty years.

Her zest for life, sense of humor and laid back personality was the foundation to successfully raising nine children “effortlessly”. She was a stickler for proper grammar, loved tennis and playing bridge with Leo and Mary and Bill. She danced to the beat of her own drum – even smoked through the entirety of eight out her nine pregnancies, the one exception will remain nameless.

In addition to raising 9 kids and being a devoted grandmother of 25, she always had at least one pet collie around just to keep things interesting. Her house was full of kids, diapers, dogs, pots of coffee and laughter. Her laugh was contagious and echoed throughout her home. She knew no strangers, her house was always open to anyone. Including a neighbor or kids’ friend who needed a place to stay for a bit. Maybe the best summation of her faith and character was captured by someone saying “She made me feel like one of her own.” She will be missed dearly. Passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10^th, 2023 at 81 years of age. Visitation at Meyer Funeral home 5864 Bridgetown Rd, on Wednesday from 5:30-8:00pm. Mass of Christian burial at St Antoninus Caholic Church on Thursday at 10:30am. Celebration will follow.
