HAERING, Susan Lynn, passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 63. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of the late Herbert and Eileen (Saunders) Haering.
Susan was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and devotion. She was “as strong as a mountain goat” or so she called herself, She worked to earn her degree while keeping a job to support herself. Her life was defined by sacrifice, compassion, and an unwavering generosity that everyone around her felt. She was deeply loved for her giving nature and the way she always put others before herself. No matter the challenges, Susan ensured that Michael and Max were cared for, supported, and deeply loved. Before anything else—before her long hours, responsibilities, and decades of service—she was a mother, and her sons were her greatest source of pride.
For 43 years, Susan served as a nurse with compassion, dedication, and integrity. She was proud of her career and took great comfort in knowing that her work touched countless lives. Her gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and natural kindness was recognized by everyone who met her, and will strongly remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was a beloved aunt to Angie (Jay Gates) and Amanda Haering, and a cherished great-aunt to JJ and Fitz. Susan’s love extended far beyond family. She had a profound appreciation for nature she loved trees collected rocks, and had a love of animals that followed her throughout her life. She was an animal rescuer with a heart that opened readily to animals and people in need. A lifelong vegetarian, she lived her values with quiet conviction and compassion. She is survived by her loyal dogs, Duke and Junie, and her beloved cats, Mia and Gidget, who brought her comfort, companionship, and joy every day, right until her last.
