ROSE, Robert R. Sr. “Bob”, passed away on May 12, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 78. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Raymond and Loraine (nee Rogers) Rose.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Barbara (nee Truitt). Loving Father to Robert Rose Jr., Carla Rose, Tony (Angie) Rose, and Shannon (Ben) Melillo. Beloved Pappaw of Serenity and Cecily Rose, Kimberley (Jacob) Stillwell, Michael (Brooke) Ellis Jr., Makalynn Rose, Jaeden and Gianna Finehout, and Louie and Gia Melillo. Caring Great-Pappaw to Malia, Aurora, Elena, and Katie. He is also survived by his dear siblings Pam Thacker, Ray (Teresa), and John Rose along with many family members and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his brother Warren Rose.
Bob was a comedic bright light with whomever he met. He always made people feel loved and welcomed, especially his family and friends. His passion for making others happy was clear, whether it was attending sporting events of his kids and grandkids, stepping up to coach his kid's sports, serving as Parish Council president, or just saying "yes" to just about anything his beloved wife Barb suggested. He spent his retired years enjoying weekly breakfasts with his friends of 70+ years, serving the community by being a Citizen on Patrol, and relaxing in Florida or at the local shooting range. Spending time with his grandkids was his favorite and it brought him so much joy, especially when they would laugh at his dad jokes. Over the years he enjoyed lots of different hobbies, such as fishing, camping, boating, collecting coins, playing the piano, harmonica, and ukulele, making bullets for his gun collection and a member of the NRA. He valued a strong work ethic and passed this down to his kids. He never missed a day of work and was proud of his perfect attendance. He loved cheering on the Reds and Bengals, and would enjoy attending games with family and friends.
He was a devoted Catholic serving as an altar boy in his younger years, and sent all of his kids to Catholic schools because he valued God and education, even though it was a sacrifice financially.
