Robert J. Grosse

June 22, 1949 — September 27, 2025

Green Twp.

GROSSE, Robert J. Beloved husband of Catherine Grosse (Nee Wagner) for 56 years. Loving father of Jeff Grosse, Julie (Bryan) Cliffe, Laura (Murray) Holland and Gina (Jeff) Taylor. Devoted grandfather of Brandon (Bri) Cliffe, Emma (Joe) Witkowski, Edward (Veda) Cliffe, Tess Cliffe (Matt Johnson), Claudia Cliffe, Nicholas (Maia Bibee), Eric, Josie, Jingya Holland, Jake, Ella, Will Vinje and great grandfather of Elias, Ivy and Elio. Dear brother of Christine (the late Ray) Fay, William Grosse, Joseph (Rebecca) Grosse and the late Gregory Grosse. Brother in law of Sue Grosse, Jeanne Wagner, Carole Wagner, the late Earl Wagner and Carol Huml. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Bob was born and raised in Bridgetown where he met his lifelong friends, aka the “Karen Ave Boys.” He graduated from Lasalle High School in 1967. He married his high school sweetheart in 1969 and they had 4 children. He began working at Procter and Gamble while attending Xavier University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He continued to work at P&G as an analytical chemist, where he got to travel the world, for a total of 43 years.

During his 76 years, he found various ways to volunteer, teach, and give his time to his family and his community. He was a member of the Westwood Tree Club, the Westwood Civic Association, served as a school board member at Mother of Mercy high school, served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, served as a communion distributor, was a blood donor and was the “Science Guy” at area schools. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku, woodworking, gardening, beekeeping, but most of all his family. He particularly looked forward to family trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he would spend days walking the beach, flying kites, kayaking, stargazing and doing whatever else the grandkids wanted to do with him. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his cabin in Indiana.

Above all else, he was incredibly selfless; always helping other people without hesitation. Everybody who had the privilege of meeting him remembers him for his positive attitude and happy disposition. He will be remembered by all who knew him as the best person they ever met.

Bob died peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 76.
