Rita M. Wesseling, age 70, of Bridgetown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, following complications from heart surgery.
She was born February 25, 1950 in Cincinnati, the second of three children to Margaret (Bell) Wesseling and the late Robert J. Wesseling. She is survived by her mother, two sisters and their husbands Anne and Allan Dombrowski of East Brunswick, NJ and Patricia and Michael Haun of Loveland, OH. Additionally, she is survived by a nephew, Keith Haun (Kristen) and three nieces Michele Muller (Jeremy), Amy and Alicia Dombrowski. She also leaves six great-nieces and nephews-Mia, Reid and Zeke Haun and James, Jaxyn and Derek Muller.
Rita was a teacher for 42 years, before retiring in 2015. She taught at St. Benedict and St. Augustine Schools in Covington, KY. Rita was a "giver". She gave of herself to her students, was always there for her family and friends, and helped care for her mother and aunt for many years.
Rita's passions were books and traveling, and most of all she loved her faith, family, friends and students. She was an active member of St. Jude Parish, Bridgetown, and an associate member of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.
Arrangements are by B.J. Meyer Sons Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will take place. A memorial service celebrating Rita's life will be held at a later date due to Covid-19.
