Rick Meiners

MEINERS, Richard David “Rick”, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024. Beloved husband of Jenny Meiners (nee Scherra) for more than 50 years.  Loving father of Ben (Genevieve) Meiners and Dave (Sarah) Meiners.  Devoted grandfather of Holden, Brynn, and Ellie; Charlie and Sam.  Dear brother of the late Louis (Libby) Meiners, Elaine (Ray) Westrich, and the late Dan (Mary) Meiners.  Brother-in-law to Marilyn Scherra (Kath Moore), Emily (Rich) Lemming, the late Tony (Karen) Scherra, and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Rick was born September 8, 1952, to Louis and Esther (nee Schneider) Meiners, the youngest of four siblings.  Raised on the west side of Cincinnati, Rick was a graduate of Elder High School (1970), and proudly served in the US Army at Fort Lee for two years.  Rick opened his own business in 1983.  He owned and operated Meiners Meats for over 40 years; where he made many friends, worked alongside his son and brother, and enjoyed getting to know his customers.  Throughout his battle with cancer, one of the things he missed the most was his daily interactions with his customers and co-workers.  Rick’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family in the backyard on a summer night, watching school plays and sports, going on family vacations, or having a simple family dinner.

Visitation at St. Antoninus Church, 1500 Linneman Rd., on THURSDAY from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.
