Rick W. Anderson

September 27, 1953 — April 9, 2024

Delhi Township

We are sad to announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Warren Anderson, age 70, of (Delhi) Cincinnati, Ohio after a 16 year battle with cancer.

He was born in Cincinnati to Carol Anderson and the late Roger Anderson.

Rick was looking forward to celebrating 50 years with his beloved wife, Jetta, at the end of this year.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 2 loving sons, Scott (Kristin) and Jeff (Joni), 6 loving grandchildren, Kylie, Danielle (Dani), Emma, Tyler, Ian, and Austin, and 2 grand pets Zoey and Boo.  He had 4 siblings Lisa (Jim), Sue (Dan), Mike (Nancy), and Carey (Bev).  He had many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends that he loved with his whole heart and they all loved him as well.

Rick was a graduate of Oak Hills High School. He was employed by Cincinnati Incorporated where he built machine tools (specializing in Compacts). He coached his 2 sons through youth basketball and always had a strong presence in everything they did.   He had a great passion for automobiles and has owned everything from a Fiat to Jeeps, with Ford being his favorite manufacturer. In addition, he took much pride in restoring a 1960 Austin Healy, as well as he enjoyed Formula 1 racing.  He could use any type of tool to work on anything from small engines all the way up to home construction projects. Rick was always the go to guy when anyone needed anything fixed, as well as when anyone needed good advice. He also enjoyed vacations to Hilton Head especially with his family by his side.

His appreciation for nature and the outdoors led him to purchase his second home away from home, a family farm in Dillsboro, Indiana.  This was Rick’s heaven on earth being at the farm.  His greatest joy was spending time there with family and his dearest, preciously adored grandchildren. Following in their athletic endeavors was equally important to him.

Rick was an intellect and loved to read. He was a very good resource for national and world affairs. He was an avid fan of Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd. He was passionate and knowledgeable about how the bands engineered and tracked the songs. He believed this music and lyrics was ahead of its time and knew that it was special that he was able to experience this period of music history.

Rick was a strong man, both emotionally and physically. He was a humble, devoted Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend. He will be missed by his family and many friends for his steadfast loyalty and willingness to pitch in whenever someone needed him. We love you, and will see you soon.
