Loving father, boyfriend, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew, Pete O’Shaughnessy was a shining example of how to live your life with grace. Pete passed away at the too young age of 42 on August 9, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives as he did with kindness, joy, love and laughter.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pete: he loved his family and was a favorite at every gathering. He had an inner light and joy that made all want to be around him. He was an avid Bengals and Reds fan, and was always the loudest cheerer at his daughter’s volleyball games. He found happiness in all things and that was contagious to everyone he met. He made everyone he knew a better person just by being an example of how to live your life. He was one of the best people we knew.
Pete is survived by his children, Emma and Owen, his girlfriend Lesley Webster and her children Taylor and Charlesey, his mother Nancy (George) Yund, his father Denis (Rene) O’Shaughnessy, his sisters Katie OShaughnessy, Laura (Clint) Adkins, his step siblings Megan (Matt) Zinser, Lindsey (Brian) Beckmann, Laura (John) Dean, Jeff (Chrissy) Yund, Brian (Alicia) Yund and their children, and his children’s mother Jenny O’Shaughnessy and her family. Pete had a very special and close relationship with his nephews and niece — Nathan, Luke and Alexandra Adkins — and they will miss tremendously their wonderful Uncle Pete. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
