ERNST, Peggy Anne (nee Ruark), passed away surrounded by the love of her family on June 19, 2025 at the age of 65. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (nee Zahneis) Ruark. She is survived by her loving children Courtney (Nicholas) Moffitt and Drew Ernst. Beloved grandmother of Brody, Collins, and Easton. Dear sister of Patrick (Connie) Ruark, Kathy (Tim) Wood, and Dan (Wendy) Ruark. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
If you were to ask Peggy, she would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her two wonderful children, Courtney and Drew. Throughout the years, she often went without, making sacrifices so they could enjoy a better life—one that she knew they truly deserved. Her heart beamed with joy for her three beloved grandchildren, Brody, Collins, and Easton. Peggy cherished the moments spent playing word games and solving puzzles on her iPad with her grandsons, Brody and Easton, and she adored having her granddaughter, Collins, do her makeup. Peggy had a passion for baseball, and she loved cheering on the Cincinnati Reds—especially those cherished times spent watching the games with her late mother, Rose. That passion became more evident while watching her son, Drew, play and coach the game she loved. On warm evenings, you could find Peggy relaxing on her front porch, listening to music, with “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica being her all-time favorite. She also took great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds and squirrels that visited her backyard. Peggy had a warm spirit and never met a stranger; she was loved by everyone who crossed her path. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by the countless lives she touched.
