SPURGEON, Mona K. age 68, Kettering, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH and married John G. Spurgeon May 30, 1975, when two became one.
Mona was a 1973 graduate of Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, as well as completed courses at Edgewood College. She was a dedicated wife, worked outside of the home for a brief period at Vicki's Uniform Shop. She was an active member of DACUG (Dayton Area User Group) computer club for 37 years and held various positions such as News Editor, Secretary, Treasuer and President. Mona was also an active volunteer for the City of Ketterings Fraze Pavillion. She was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed football, cheering especially loud for her local team, Cincinnati Bengals. She was a detailed list keeper for all things, personal & business.
Mona's passion was always caring for others. Her greatest attributes were compassion and empathy. She could not do enough to help people in need and often commented it made her feel good when she could do something to help someone. She was a s big supporter of St Jude's Children Research.
Mona is survived by her two sisters; Sharon DeSalvo, Darla (David) Gabriel, Sister-in-laws, Caroline (Ray) Fitzjarrell, Debbie Spurgeon and her 9 nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her husband, John G. Spurgeon,
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 4026 River Rd., on WEDNESDAY at 10:00 AM.
