Mack A. Kidd Jr.

Mack A. Kidd Jr., loving husband of the late Peggy Kidd, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 5th, 2024. Mack was born in Winchester, Kentucky on November 5th, 1935. 

He was a loving and devoted father to his children, Tracey Wessel (Harry), Mack A. Kidd III (Kim), and Lance Kidd Sr. (Tracy). Loving Pawpaw to Mackenzie, Lancer, Lily, Ella, and Anderson; and a loving uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Mack A. Kidd Sr. and Frances Kidd as well as his siblings Maxine Espich, Robert Kidd, Rex Kidd, and Martha Kidd. 

Mack met the love of his life Peggy on a blind date in 1953. They married in September of 1956. Mack left for Germany to serve with the U.S. Army from September 1956-1958. Mack was a retired truck driver for the Kroger Company. 

After retirement he and Peggy enjoyed 24 winters in Bonita Springs, FL. at IBE where they met many dear friends. Mack and Peggy also spent countless hours at auctions all over southeast Indiana, parts of Kentucky, and Ohio to buy and refinish “junk.” Mack never met a piece of furniture he couldn’t restore. He also worked part time for Auctions by Maggie and made many lifelong friends through her sales. 

Mack was a charter member at The First Baptist Church of Dent now known as Beacon of Christ Baptist Church. Mack was faithful in raising his family at church and teaching them to serve others. 

The family is at peace with Mack being welcomed home to his Lord and Savior, but also with the fact he won’t have to watch a season of Alabama football without Nick Saban as the head coach.
