Joseph "Joe" H. Stahl, beloved husband of Clara (nee Catanzaro) for 72 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members on January 24, 2018 at 96 years of age. He loved his children and their spouses; Joseph (Maureen) Stahl, Timothy Stahl, Debra (Ronald) Jacobs, Linda (Robert) Schwallie and Daniel (Jennifer) Stahl. Joe was always proud of his 9 Grandchildren; Tina (Shawn) Mugavin, Scott (Kelly) Stahl, Ronald (Julie) Jacobs, Kevin (Kathrine) Jacobs, Sara (John) Koch, Joseph (Kristin) Schwallie, Michael, Danielle and Abbey Stahl. He counted his blessings with 13 Great-Grandchildren; Sheena (Alex) Steckl, Cory Mugavin, Jacob and Alexis Stahl, Charlie, Claire and Thomas Jacobs, Ryan and Connor Jacobs, Clara Koch, Hannah, Jacob and Patrick Schwallie. He enjoyed many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna (nee Wiedenbein) Stahl and younger brother Bruce Stahl. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-laws; Anthony "Gos" Catanzaro and James "Catman" Catanzaro. His sister-in-laws Georgia "Stevie" Stahl and Mary Catanzaro survive him. Joe was raised in a log cabin that his grandparents purchased from the Protestant Orphanage. It was also the "shooting lodge" of President William Henry Harrison. "Daddy Joe" served as a Marine in the South Pacific in WWII and inspired his son, Tim, to serve in the Marines. Joe enjoyed working in the truck and car industry eventually serving as President of Auto and Aero until the owner sold. He then enjoyed working for Truck and Trailer for about 25 years. In addition to his family, Joe loved nature and gardening. Visitation will be on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 814 Hawthorne Ave from 9:00AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM.
