Joseph John Joe Seiwert

Joseph (Joe) John Seiwert Jr., Carlsbad - Joseph (Joe) John Seiwert Jr., 87, of Carlsbad, California, passed away on May 19, 2022 due to cancer. Born April 29, 1935 to Joseph and Rose Ann Seiwert of Cincinnati, he attended grade school at Saint Catherine of Sienna, high school at Saint Xavier, and was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Joe was an optimistic, intelligent, extroverted man, generous with his knowledge and time, and a consummate host with a great sense of humor. He faced adversity numerous times in his life, including the loss of two wives to cancer. Despite all these challenges he displayed a zest for life that was inspiring and a positivity that few can match.
Loving husband of Mattie, brother to David Seiwert (Sandy) and Barbara Ann Seiwert Rice(John), father to Joseph III, Cindy, Melissa (Holcomb), and Scott, father in-law to Jim Holcomb, Jen Seiwert, and Rich Baez, stepfather to Laura Panter (Greg), and grandfather to Jamie Jo Pritchard (Kyle), Mandyrose Moody (Jon), and Alex Holcomb (Meredith Massman), Krysta Vassallo-Seiwert, Justin Seiwert Sim, Jake and Ella Seiwert-Kirn, Ruby and Thomas Seiwert, step-grandfather to Veradis, Aiden, and Lucas Panter, and great grandfather to Lacey, Alexa, and Eddie Pritichard, and Violette and Lincoln Moody.
He is preceded in death by his beloveds: first wife and mother of his children Patricia (Murnan), third wife Ri, his sister Barbara Rice, and his parents, Joseph Seiwert Sr and Roseann Seiwert (Lampe).

Visitation will be on Thursday June 16 from 2:30-4:30 PM at Meyer Funeral Home (5864 Bridgetown Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45248). Mass will be held on Friday June 17 at 9:30 AM at St William Catholic Church (4108 W 8th St, Cincinnati, OH 45205) followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
