John Jack Mayer

MAYER, John "Jack" F., Beloved husband of Jackie P. Mayer (Nee Patton) for 53 years. Loving father of Scott (Kimberly) Mayer, Nichole (Mark) Eckert and Marcie (Rocco) Samuele. Devoted grandfather of Alexander, Patrick Mayer, Drew, Emma Eckert, Bruno and Ronan Samuele. Dear brother of Tom (Edel) Mayer, Bill (Terri) Buzek, Michael Buzek, Mary Beth (Skip) Doyle, Dan (Colleen) Buzek and the late Don Mayer. Brother in law of Susie Mayer. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the age of 75 years.

Jack grew up on Cincinnati's West Side, attended St. Antoninus School, St Xavier HS and Xavier University. After graduation, he served in the US Navy, both in active duty and Naval reserves. He returned to Cincinnati for a career as a CPA at M.R. Mayer and Co., with his father Mike Mayer. He became the majority owner when his father retired. Jack was known for his moral integrity and attention to detail. In retirement he enjoyed traveling with Jackie, visiting the children and grandchildren, attending antique shows, exploring museums, helping the neighbors, working in his garden, and cooking in the kitchen. Meals were events to be shared with others and the food and wine was always plentiful.

Visitation at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd, on Tuesday, July 13, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic, 4551 Delhi Pk., on Wednesday, July 14, at 10:00 AM.
