SPURGEON, John Gordon, age 67, Kettering, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, in Soin Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio and married Mona Weisenborn May 30, 1975, when two became one.
John was a 1972 graduate of Elder High School in Cincinnati, as well as a graduate of Cincinnati Technical College. He was a Navy Veteran, worked at the Defense Electronic Supply Center in Kettering (DESC) until it closed, Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, and Tate & Lyle until the time of his death. He's been an active member for 35+ years - Vice President and Newsletter Editor – for the DACUG Computer Club, collected comics, loved computers, rock music, science fiction, super heroes, and all things electronic. He had a passion to help others enjoy those things as well. He had been in air conditioning and heating for over 35+ years and a stationary engineer all his adult work life
John is survived by one brother Walter (Peggy) Spurgeon, sister Caroline (Ray) Fitzjarrell, sister in laws Sharon (John) DeSalvo, Darla (David) Gabriel, Debbie Spurgeon, 9 nieces and nephews, many friends, especially and Linda and Mike Berry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret, sister Pat and brother Tim.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Vincent DePaul Church and burial at Maple Grove Cemetery on April 7, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or any charity of your choice.
