John M Deitsch

January 2, 1948 — July 21, 2019

DEITSCH, John M. Beloved husband of Rose M. Deitsch (Nee Funk) for 41 years. Loving father of Kathryn (Marc) Simon, Todd, Bradley (Roxanna) Deitsch and Amber (Steve) Marcum. Devoted grandfather of Mason Deitsch, Ryder, Harper Simon, Samantha, Victoria, Isaac Deitsch, Aubrey, Zane and Ellie Marcum. Dear brother of Linda (Ron) Corson, Connie (Mark) O'Brien, Gary (Laura) Deitsch and the late Steve Deitsch. Brother in law of Marcia Deitsch. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
John "Doctor D" "Bulls" was a loving father, grandfather and husband. You could always catch him at some type of local sporting event either as a coach, an umpire, a referee, a parent or a grandparent. Even before he had children of his own to coach, he was a coach for many teams at St. Williams Parish.
John's favorite place to visit each year with his family was Siesta Key Florida-you could always find him lounging by the pool dozing in the shade while the kids splashed in the pool, or at the daiquiri deck enjoying some half price daiquiris. He worked very hard at his job to save for this paradise vacation each year and even continued the tradition with his grandkids.
Besides going on vacation, John loved going to the casino and betting big on the roulette wheel. He would wear his lucky shirt with a picture of a grandchild on it and most of the time it would bring him luck!
John loved his wife Rose so much; it was love at first sight. They met at the Gay 90's in Cheviot and were married 1.5 months later and were married for 41 years. He even loved her so much he married her twice; once at the Justice of the Peace and then again years later in his parish church St. Jude in front of his family and friends. They had many wonderful times together and 4 beautiful children.
John grew up in Price Hill, went to Holy Family Grade School, Elder High School and then entered the Marines and fought in Vietnam. He moved to the west side where he lived for the past 50 years. There really isn't a place you can go that someone doesn't know the name John Deitsch. Doesn't matter if you're in Cincinnati on the Westside, Florida or Vegas you can bet on the fact someone will yell out Johnny D, Doctor D, or Bulls!
John was diagnosed several years ago with Lewy Body Dementia and as it progressed his wife Rose took care of him at home until the final stages where it was best for him and the family that he entered under the care of the VA Hospice.
