CUSTER, John V. MD, FAAFP, Beloved husband of Mary Jo Custer (nee Albertz) for 66 years. Loving father of Theresa (Brian) Gallagher, John V. (Amanda) Custer, Christopher (Holly) Custer, and Keith (Adrienne) Custer. Devoted grandfather of Erin, Kristen, Lauren Gallagher, Mallory Sorenson, Isabelle, Jack, Nick, Brodie, and Colin Custer. Dear brother-in-law of the late Carl J. (Camilla) Albertz.

Passed away peacefully, in his home with family on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 89 years of age.

Dr. Custer served as a US Army Physician with the 311th Field Hospital, which was deployed to Qui Nhon, South Vietnam from 1968-69, with the mission of caring for soldiers and the local Vietnamese people. Dr. Custer practiced medicine as a family physician on the west side of Cincinnati for 40 years. Highly respected by both patients and peers, he served on the Board of St. Francis-St. George Hospital and was named President of the Medical Staff in 1981. He was a member and co-chair of the Judicial Committee of the Cincinnati chapter of the American Medical Association.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 3450 Lumardo Ave, on MONDAY, September 15, 2025 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.
