John C Barlage

John Charles Barlage, 69, of Green Township, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, December 29, 2019. He was born July 11, 1950 in Price Hill, son of the late Harry and Ellen (Duffy) Barlage. John is survived by Donna (Davidson), his devoted wife of 43 years, two beloved sons, Aaron (Tami) and David (Anna), and four adoring granddaughters, Mary, Paige, Sara and Lucy, who brought him immeasurable joy.
He is also survived by sister, Mary Ellen Stemann, brothers David and Hank Barlage, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Barlage, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother, Thomas.
John was a 1969 graduate of Elder High School and earned his BS from the University of Cincinnati in 2000. The majority of John's career was spent as a quality control manager in the snack food industry, starting out at Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake and finishing at Husman's Snack Foods. He went on to work at Hamilton County EPA until his retirement in 2016.
John will be remembered for his optimism, warmth and wonderful sense of humor. His family always topped the list of his priorities. Many years were enjoyed with his sons in Scouting, camping, fishing and valuing nature's bounty. John gleaned tremendous satisfaction in his role as a volunteer with Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky, considering it a privilege to serve. He was always ready and willing to lend an enthusiastic helping hand. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the good fortune to know him.
Visitation will be held at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., on Saturday, January 4, 2019, from 2:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 4:00 PM with Pastor Nathan Hardesty officiating.
