Jeffrey Scott Sheeler

February 13, 1967 — August 8, 2025

Cincinnati

SHEELER, Jeffrey Scott “Jeff”, passed away on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 58. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Robert and Naomi (nee Applegate) Sheeler.

He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 34 years, Patty Sheeler (nee Ruwe). Loving sons Austin (Elisha Dickerson), Nathan, and Dominic (Kylee Shelley) Sheeler. Dear siblings Steve (Cristi) Williams and Bev (Steve) Stankovics. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.

Jeff Sheeler was a professional computer genius, certified Corvette connoisseur, satisfactory master engineer, devoted husband, and ardent father. Jeff was the type of person who, to whomever he met, friendship quickly followed. He was always willing to help anyone in their time of need, offering patience and support without judgment.

If someone from work called, even after work hours, he immediately stopped what he was doing to assist in any way possible. If a friend needed help, he'd spare no expense in aiding them. He was selfless in all aspects and held a firm belief that kindness and generosity are qualities that make humans humane.

There was nothing Jeff loved more than his family. As a husband, he reminisced fondly about his wedding day to the love of his life, Patty, who walked with him through life's journey by his side, in sickness and in health, endlessly loving and courageous.

As a father, Jeff couldn't be prouder of his children. His kids always viewed him as the undisputed Worldwide Best Dad Champion. When Austin joined the United States Navy, he was the parent who came dressed up in Proud Navy Dad apparel, his eyes gleaming with a giant smile as big as the sky. When Nathan graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's in statistics, he was undoubtedly beaming with amazement. When Dominic's baseball team, the Hawks, went to the Championship and won, ecstatic vibrations were electrifying the air around him.

Jeff was a whiz with computers. Always eager to solve the complicated puzzles they presented. The knowledge he had of technology stemmed from his endless curiosity about the assembly and disassembly of each component involved in technology. A true lover of complicated theories and their execution.

Jeff was a warrior after his initial diagnosis of metastatic stage 4 kidney cancer in October of 2021. Even with the devastating news, he maintained hope and stood firm for his loved ones. He kept a positive outlook, believing that given the proper treatment, this too would pass. And it did, Jeff beat all odds set against him. However, sadly, due to extenuating complications, he passed.

Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on within everyone he encountered. Jeff will be deeply missed, though he has found serenity.
