EMMETT, Janet (Nee Ackerman) Departed this life on February 22nd surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Jack Emmett for 58 years. Dear mother of Brian Emmett (Alison), Timothy Emmett (Nikkie), and Sean Emmett (Amy). Daughter of the late Howard A. Ackerman and Carolyn Wagner Ackerman. Grandmother of Isabella Emmett, Ethan Emmett, Piper Emmett, Ryan Edmund, Marc Fritsche, and Colin Fritsche. Sister of the late Howard Ackerman (late Bobbi). Sister-in-law of the late Harry Janson (late Ceil), and the late Joe Emmett.  She is survived by her brother, Robert Ackerman (Carolyn), brother, Jerome Ackerman (Jennie), sister, Carrie Peer (Gene) and Sister-in-law Patsy Driehaus Emmett (late Jerry).

Janet attended Ursuline Academy for two years and graduated from Seton High School, Class of 1959. She graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing and attended the University of Cincinnati on a scholarship. Janet started her nursing career as a Public Health Nurse for the city of Cincinnati. She married Jack Emmett in 1965. Janet took time to help raise their three sons and after refreshing her nursing skills at the University of Cincinnati, she returned to her nursing career working in several Cincinnati hospitals for various Nursing agencies. She completed her career as a home visiting nurse. Janet was a lector at St. Agnes Church in Bond Hill and sang in the St. Agnes Choir under the direction of conductor and composer, James Moore.  She was a wonderful homemaker, cook, and baker. She belonged to a club of Good Samaritan School of Nursing graduates and life-long friends who met every month for sixty years.  Janet supported all the endeavors of her husband and sons by attendance and encouragement. She was known as Aunt Janet to many nieces and nephews. She was a good friend to many and a forty-two- year member of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish. Janet courageously faced several health issues with her faithful husband by her side.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. 

Visitation at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 3172 South Rd., on SATURDAY, March 2, from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
