James M. Fischer

January 6, 1952 — August 26, 2023

Cincinnati

FISCHER, James M., Beloved husband of Mary Jo Fischer (Nee Stegeman) for 47 years.  Loving father of Jessica Fischer and Stephanie (Trent) Montgomery. Devoted grandfather of Abbie and Paige.  Cherished son in law of Jean Stegeman (Nee Gamm).  Dear brother of Tom Fischer, Dan (Maureen) Fischer, Terri (Bill) Thinnes and the late Chris Beck.  Brother in law of Pete Beck, Carol Stegeman, Lou Stegeman, Shelli (Mike) Imfeld, Linda (Joel) Beck and the late Bob Stegeman.  Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

James "Jim" started his education at St. William School in Cincinnati, followed by Elder High School and the University of Cincinnati. He was a dedicated medical professional, providing caring support and comfort to his patients during challenging times of their lives. Jim was a nature enthusiast, avid hiker and adventurous camper of both the National Parks and local Cincinnati parks. He loved unique, rustic trips across the country with his wife, friends and granddaughters, capturing their adventures with photos and videos along the way. Jim also enjoyed physical fitness and cooking for his family. He was a fun-loving, devoted husband who cared for his best friend and prioritized her needs. As a silly and lovable father, Jim was always willing to play or provide support.  Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and was the best “Voffy” in the world for his granddaughters. Jim was known as an honest, down-to-earth guy. He was a selfless, patient man with a huge heart and he provided endless service to others, even those he just met. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.
