BRUNS, James R. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte ‘Dee’ Bruns (Nee Ingersoll) for 61 years. Loving father of Brian (Brenda) Bruns, Dan (Heidi) Bruns, Michael (Renee) Bruns and Ted (Maureen) Bruns. Devoted grandfather of Michael (Brittany), Christian (Emily), Daniel (Sara Cassidy), Cole, Gabrielle, Ryan (Analiese), Kara, James ‘Jay’, Eric, Max, Mitch and great grandfather of Robin and Rose. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Jim is predeceased by his sisters Mary and Joan and his brothers Frank and Robert.

Jim Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War shortly after high school graduation where he was honorably discharged after serving four years. He leveraged the GI Bill and enrolled in Villa Madonna College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. It was during that time he met and married Dee in a marriage that lasted for over 60 incredible years.

At the age of 49, Jim’s hard work and perseverance earned him an opportunity to own a small business. He and Dee soon became sole proprietors of the Cincinnati Brush Manufacturing Company, a business he owned and successfully managed for over 40 years, having just recently retired.

Passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 92 years of age. Visitation at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., on THURSDAY from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church, 3690 Warsaw Ave., on FRIDAY at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Memorial Fund, 3680 Warsaw Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45205.
