Dickerson, Harvey L. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Nadine Dickerson (Keck), and by his son Leo H. Dickerson. Loving father of Debbie (Tim), Cheryl (Michael [Deceased]), Mike (Celesta), Barb (Gary), Roger (Stephanie), Ronald (Diane), Phillip (Kim), and Andy (Rachelle). Grandfather (Papaw) to Chase, Melonie, Matt, Edie, Betsy, Jacob, Troy, Andrea, Jarrett, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Zachary, Stacey, Daniel, Jody, Scott, Chrissy, Miranda, AJ, Eli, and Walter. Great grandfather to Kameron, Luke, Lily, Makayla, Samuel, Eleyna, Ryan, Alexandria, Simone, Corbin, Wyatt, Mason, Mia, Madelyn, Michael, Parker, Landon, Miles, and Teddy. Harvey was survived by many other family members and longtime friends.
Harvey crossed over peacefully on October 19, 2021, at 90 years of age. The Funeral will be on MONDAY, October 25th at BJ Meyer Funeral Home, 5865 Bridgetown Rd. in Hamilton County from 10:00am-12:00pm. Procession following funeral to Graceland Memorial Gardens in Goshen, Ohio. The family asks that independent of vaccine status – to please wear masks at the service if you would feel more comfortable.
Harvey was born in Adair County, Kentucky on February 5th, 1931 to Charles E. and Grace E. Dickerson. Harvey was one of 11 children. He was a brick layer and then worked for the Penn-Central Railroad as a brakeman, until he lost his right arm in an accident on May 5th, 1977. Harvey also worked with a landscape architect for many years, Marvin Cornell. Harvey enjoyed cutting grass, and did so voluntarily on Golden Avenue, the street of his residence, for many years.
Harvey loved being around family, fishing, reading, hunting, cooking, and enjoyed many movies featured on Turner Classic Movie Channel. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends, and his birthday countdown tradition will live on throughout our family in the coming years!
