Cincinnati - George Allen Gee passed away at the age of 87, peacefully at his home, The Terrace View Gardens. Born and raised in Cincinnati, on June 26, 1938, parents were George M. and Pauline Gee.* George's father, George M. Gee, had a business, The Central Hand Laundry, 408 Central Ave., from 1939 -1969. George in his youth and adult years lived in Price Hill.
Though George was mentally challenged he was capable of living alone in an efficiency apartment above Bernen's Pharmacy for twenty-seven years before moving to Terrace View Gardens upon the recommendation of his family physician, Dr. R. Ghani.
George liked volunteering and did so at a local church for many years. George had the gift of being a savant and taught himself how to play the piano in the 70's where he sometimes played for a local church and Terrace View Gardens. Both at a local church and at a hardware store in Bridgetown George performed repair work on small appliances as part of his volunteering.
In his youth George was a walker and every Spring & Summer he walked all the way to downtown where he spent the day at Fountain Square watching the world go by and talking to various people who passed by. He must have had his Guardian Angel with him on these walks to downtown for he was always safe in doing so. George and a close friend, John Spalding, from a local church went on a one day train ride to Chicago every May for seventeen years until John moved to Louisville, Ky. George is survived by his sister, G. Marty Burton, friend, Robert L. Elliott, niece and nephews, Robert, Mary and Richard Burton, Rob Brandt and the Ng Family in California. In spirit his two sisters, G. Carol Fischer and G. Faith Kramer. In general, George loved meeting and talking to people as he welcomed making new friends, sometimes not all were a good influence, even those he had a lot of faith in, and took advantage of him in a monetary way as George was very frugal and saved what money he could. George also leaves behind his many care givers and friends at Terrace View Gardens. The family is grateful to Terrace View Gardens for their gentle and kind care while making the facility a comfortable home for George as he so loved being there. Also the family's gratefulness is for the Bella Care Hospice and their staff of visiting nurses. Most respectfully, Chaplain, Chris Mueller who often came to Terrace View Gardens comforting and praying with George for he was very much a person who definitely believed in our Heavenly Father and His Angels.
Services to be held at the families convenience.
