Gary Herzner

HERZNER, Gary Joseph. Beloved husband of Rita Ann (nee Schwering). Loving father of Bryan (Desi), Sarah (Josh), Emily (Ross). Devoted grandfather to Ashely, Brandon, Zachary, CJ, Karessa, Serena, Josie and Rozalynn. Preceded in death by his father Arthur and mother Esther (Schaefer). Dear brother to Jackie, Vickie and Larry (Phyllis). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Passed peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the age of 67 surrounded by his family. Gary and Rita were married 47 years and shared an enduring, immeasurable love for one another. Gary was honorably discharged from the Army serving from 1969 through 1971. Gary worked for the City of Cincinnati for 35 years as a traffic engineer, retiring in 2002. He was an avid golfer and upon retiring, golf became one of his favorite pastimes. On June 23, 2003, Gary was playing the white course at Neumann Golf Course and had a 134 yard hole in one on the 9th hole. It was the highlight of his golfing pursuits.
