Frank, known to his siblings as "Franny", was born in Philadelphia, the son of Irish immigrant parents. He eventually found the great love of his life, his wife Ginny, in Cincinnati, where they lived out a happy and blessed life with a loving family and many longtime friends.
Frank entered the Army at age 18 in 1945 near the end of WWII, and served until 1953. The last 3 years were served in the 67th AAA Gen Battalion Seventh Army in Worms, Germany as a WOJG Unit Administrator.
Upon discharge he attended Xavier University in Cincinnati on the GI Bill and earned a BS in Economics and an MBA. His career was spent in the Savings & Loan Industry in Cincinnati.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ginny Diana O'Neill, who he says "really saved his life and taught him the right way to live". They were "two peas in a pod", sharing their love for the Lord, their families, friends old and new, and especially Xavier basketball.
Frank is survived by his children Michael O'Neill, Mary Ellen Macke, Matthew O'Neill, Maureen O'Neill, grandchildren Lauren Macke Beebe (Parker), Patrick Macke and Christine Macke, and his siblings Ellen Koelker and Paul O'Neill.
Frank was a longtime member of Cursillo, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The 28th Infantry Division Association and Xavier Musketeer Club. He was a regular at the St. Francis of Assisi Retreat Group at the Milford Spiritual Center.
Visitation at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 3172 South Rd., on SATURDAY from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
Frank was a very strong believer in Catholic Education so that today's economically disadvantaged children could have the same opportunity to succeed that he received in Philadelphia Catholic Schools, which were free in his youth during the Great Depression.
