JAMES, David Andrew passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 55 years of age after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of Ann James (nee Rengering) for 26 years. Loving father of Ryan, Christopher and Andrew James. Devoted son of Carole (Bob) Rinear and the late Dan James. Dear brother of Dan (Mary), Chris (Tim) Lysaght, Joni (Ron) Gerdes, Tim (Julie) and Pat (Meg). Dear son-in-law of Margaret and John Rengering and brother-in-law of Clare (Bill) Fox, Ellen (Ward) Maresca, David (Annie) Rengering, Stacy (Jim) Shumate, Paul (Barb) Rengering, Alan (Becky) Rengering and Joani (Steve) Means. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Elder High School and The University of Tennessee. Shortly after graduating from UT, David started his career working for Harte Hanks- he was still working for them at the time of his death. After playing high school and college football David took his passion for football and used it to coach at his grade school, Our Lady of Lourdes for 33 years. There he taught his players the value of hard work and being a team. He gave endless hours to the football program-often getting to the field before the sun was up and staying well after the games were over to ensure the day ran smoothly. Known to all as DJ, he brought people together. When he was in a room people gravitated to him to talk sports or to just drink a beer. He was a family man who supported his three sons in whatever they tried. Visitation MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Road on Sunday from 2:00PM-6:00PM.
