Constance Marie Bredestege

April 1, 1950 — May 26, 2025

Cincinnati

BREDESTEGE, Constance M. “Connie” (nee Berndsen), passed away surrounded by the love of her family on May 26, 2025 at the age of 75. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Merkle) Berndsen.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Charles Bredestege, and loving children Jennifer (Martin) Gable, Emily (Jason Hoffman) Bredestege, and Charles Jr. (Kate) Bredestege. Beloved grandmother to Katie (Mark) Wandstrat, Michael, Weston, Carter, Eli, Vincent, Oliver, and Malcom. Cherished sister to Johnny Berndsen, Joe (Kim) Berndsen, and Laurie (Donny) Draggoo.

Connie was a very caring and kind woman, always happy to talk to anyone about anything. She was always there when you needed her. She was never intimidated by chaos. Connie was full of creativity. She was always making things, and decorating things with tiny paintings or drawings, and kept lots of little notes about everything. She was great at organizing, and rearranging things, and always knew exactly where everything was. She particularly loved playing Legos, drawing, painting, crocheting, and sewing. Connie liked to cook, and was never afraid to try a new recipe, but she really shined when it came to gardening, and was always surrounded with a plethora of thriving flowers and plants. Her grandchildren brought her the most joy. She excelled at playing with them. She could entertain and keep her grandkids giggling for hours. She loved to laugh, and we will miss that more than anything.
