KESSINGER, Charles W. Beloved husband of Bernadine for 55 years, preceded in death by his precious daughter Cheryl Ann, devoted father of Charles Jr. (Randy) and Charmaine Kessinger. Dear grandfather of Rachel and Danielle Kessinger. Also survived by sister, Mary (Bill) Upton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Charles was originally from Bowling Green, KY and was a long time resident of Cincinnati, OH. Charles and Bernadine were married on April 11, 1953. They were inseparable and shared a love of family, travel and education. Charles served with distinction in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Oriskiny during the Korean war. He worked at the Cincinnati Enquirer for 34 years, retiring as production manager. A private pilot who owned his own plane, Charles shared his passion for aviation with his granddaughters. A man of immense character and integrity he passed to us his own personal code of conduct, the importance of honesty and respect for self and others, a desire for knowledge combined with a strong work ethic, perseverance and a sense of pride in all matters related to him.
