Carol Sue Waddle (née Miller), age 80, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Carol was a beacon of love and warmth that spread effortlessly to everyone within range of her sunny rays. She never knew a stranger, simply friends she hadn't made yet. She had a gift for striking up conversations, learning people’s stories, and making them feel seen and welcomed with an ease that marveled the most outgoing individuals.
An avid world traveler, Carol had a deep love for adventure which was nurtured with her children and passed on through the generations. She explored the world with enthusiasm and curiosity, always ready for her next journey and the cherished memories it would bring.
She was a proud Ambassador to Cincinnati Veterans Hospital through the Daughter's of the American Revolution as well as an active member of Dent Baptist church, serving as a grief counselor to help those in crisis. Through these efforts, she found meaning and comfort in both her faith and her heritage.
Carol was the beloved wife of the late Phillip A. Waddle Sr. for 46 years and a loving mother to Phillip A. (Sandy) Waddle Jr., Laura Waddle, and Joseph Waddle. She was a devoted grandmother to Brittany Roberts, Mattie Waddle, Tyler (Abbey) Waddle, Phillip Waddle III, Cheyenne (Chris) Wells, Haley (Donovan) Finley, Charlotte Waddle, and Zoe Waddle, and a proud great-grandmother to Kimmy, Joey, Sammy, Ben, Henry, and Jacob.
She was the dear sister of Ronald (Norma) Miller and the late Olene (Philip) Drew, Opal (Jewell) Bolton, Patricia (Mel) Karnes and Olas Miller, and sister-in-law of Margie Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilburn and Mattie Miller.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, her welcoming spirit, her love of music, and the way she made everyone feel like family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, connection, and love that will continue on through all the lives she touched.
