Carol M. Purnhagen

PURNHAGEN, Carol M. (nee McGucken) Beloved wife of Robert Purnhagen for 45 years. Deeply devoted mother to Carly (Matt) Horine and Bradley (Casey) Purnhagen, joyfully loving GiGi, to Maggie & Greg Horine and Tommy & Penny Purnhagen, and a loving sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her much loved parents Thomas & Marjorie McGucken and adored brother Michael McGucken. Carol was a ray of sunshine and showed boundless love to all who knew her. She left her career as a radiology technician to be a stay-at-home mom, after which she spent 28 years as the health room aide at JF Dulles Elementary in the Oak Hills Local School District. Carol was passionate about the Dulles & Oak Hills community and was loved by the many staff, students, and families she cared for. She was also devoted to the community of friends turned into family. She gave so much to so many and was loved by all. We are all better for having her in our lives and will miss her without cease until we are reunited in heaven. Passed away suddenly in an automobile accident on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 70 years of age. Visitation at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd. on FRIDAY from 4:00 PM until time of Prayer Service at 6:30 PM.
