SHIELDS, Bernice L. went home to the Lord on January 14, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Shields. Preceded in death by infant son, Kevin, and parents, Ida and Frank Kramer and sister, LaVerne Decker. Survived by cherished children Veronica (John) Seguin, Thomas (Brigid) Shields, Mary Patrice (Jean Paul) Ruiz-Funes, Karen (Mark) Vollman, Gregory (Margaret) Shields and Judith (Patrick) Earley and grandchildren Nick, Claire, Thomas (fiancee Amanda Howe), Neil and Christopher Seguin, Colleen and Ryan Shields, Gabrielle, Chloe, Camille and Luc Ruiz-Funes, Evan, Adrienne, Valerie and Claudia Vollman, Gregor and Robert Shields and Patrick, Connor, Madeline, Elise, Hanna and Quinn Earley. Beyond utmost devotion to faith and family, Bernice was a graduate of Thomas More College and past president of XU Booklovers and active with Mercy Hospital volunteers.
