Bernard J. Koch

KOCH, Bernard J. passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2023. Bernie was born to the late Frank and Helen (Lipps) Koch on February 25, 1942. He will be missed by his beloved sons, Andrew Bernard Koch and Russell Thomas Koch, and by his wife of 55 years Mary Claire (Cappel) Koch.  Bernie is also survived by his sisters and brother, Frances (Dennis) Halaby, Charles (Joann) Koch, Mary Helen (the late Ron) Wurtz and Rita (Jim) Brinck.  He was predeceased by his brothers Robert (Rita, living) Koch and Raymond (the late Mary) Koch.  Other survivors include Bill (Ruth), Paul (Angie), David, Ray (Stephanie) and Jim (Ester) Cappel, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Bernie earned BSBA and MBA Degrees from Xavier University and spent his professional career as an accountant.  Bernie was a master craftsman and gardener.  He was especially skilled at cabinet-making and carpentry and in every facet of home remodeling.  He will be missed by his canine companions Max and Lilly.  Post retirement, for 17 years, Bernie worked as a driver for the Sisters of Charity/Transportation. His family is deeply grateful to his co-workers and to the Sisters for their many prayers and kindnesses, especially during his recent illness.  Visitation MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., on Wednesday from 9:00AM to 10:00 AM.
