Benson attended St. Michael Indian school in St. Michael, Arizona. He served in the military with the United States Air Force. He retired from Honeywell Inc., and made his home in Los Angeles, California. Survivors include his wife Pat and daughter Kimmy. Brothers: David Lee of Coyote Canyon, New Mexico and Raymond Lee of Waterflow, New Mexico. Sisters: Pearl Bautista of Coyote Canyon, New Mexico; Carol A. Wheeler of Gallup, New Mexico; Marilyn Becenti of Becenti, New Mexico; Shirley Lee of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Josephine S. Willie of Continental Divide, New Mexico and Roberta Suarez of Farmington, New Mexico. Benson was preceded in death by his father, Hatathley Nez Bitsui; mother, Elsie Lee; sister, Sadie Suarez, and brothers Nelson Bitsui and Robert Joseph Bitsui. B.J.
