DAVIDSON, Arthur L., Beloved husband of Linda K. Davidson (Nee Williams) for 55 years. Loving father of Matthew Davidson (Jennifer Naegele), Benjamin Davidson (Jessica White), and Lindsay Davidson. Devoted grandfather of Rachel, Kalani, Emberleigh, Davidson and the late Hannah Davidson, our beautiful angel. Dear brother of Mark (Cheryl), and the late Donald Davidson. Brother-in-law of Suzann (the late Gary) Lawrence and Starlene (Tom) Brooks. Also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 79 years of age. Art will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, sharp wit, and lifelong devotion to his family, friends, and work.
Art was born in New Salisbury, Indiana to the late Marion Arthur “Bud” and Anna Margaret “Shorty” Davidson and graduated as a valedictorian from North Central High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He later graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and was an avid IU fan his whole life. Art was ecstatic with IU’s 2026 College Football National Championship win, and cheered for IU basketball teams during their National Championship years. IU was the place where Art met Linda and made such special life-long friendships.
Art built a remarkable career over the years, serving with distinction at Shillito’s and Federated Department Stores, Cincinnati Gas and Electric, later Duke Energy, and at Booz Allen Hamilton, Booz and Co, later Strategy&, where he held a senior leadership role. Art brought intelligence, integrity, and thoughtful leadership to everything he did, earning the admiration of colleagues across industries. He participated in corporate transactions in the United States, England, Germany, India, and Saudi Arabia, where he enjoyed success and some amazing adventures! His colleagues remembered him as a calm, witty, cheerful, kind, and unselfish teammate. They were honored not only to work beside him, but to call him their friend.
Outside of work, Art embraced with joy the things he loved. He was a sports enthusiast and a gifted athlete who especially enjoyed baseball, golf, and basketball. He found great meaning in coaching his sons’ youth baseball and playing recreational softball and basketball. He loved traveling with family and friends, especially to the beaches of California, and having adventures in Colorado, Hawaii, Florida, and Washington D.C. He loved the excitement of the open road - especially behind the wheel of his beloved Porsche 911. He was also known as a sharp dresser, a true car guy, a lover of music, and above all a “people-person” whose friendships were countless.
Not only was Art a wonderful, loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, but he was also someone who made others feel welcomed and valued. His kind personality, warmth, and loyalty left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He deeply cherished extended family, near and far, the many friends and caring neighbors from all areas of the city, his colleagues, and especially his beloved “Let It Flow Gang” whose long and everlasting bonds meant so much to Art.
Certainly, Art always had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Diamond the dalmatian, and Miley the rescue dachshund, whose companionship always brought a smile and comfort.
Though Art was limited by illness in recent years, he persevered with determination and grace, never failing in his spirit or his deep love for family and friends. He knew God was watching over him and his family, and he believed a heavenly reward would be awaiting him.
More than anything, he was a devoted father and grandfather who will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered for his fun personality, humor, caring heart, and devotion to family.
