VOLZ, Ann Ruth (Nee Murphy), Beloved wife of the late Gilbert Volz.  Loving mother of Ann P. Volz, Tom Volz and Pamela Volz - Noe.  Devoted grandmother of Jeffrey Volz, Jennifer (Patrick) Schiller, Tommy Noe, Jacqueline (Colin) Lang and the late Julie Volz and great grandmother of Kaydrian, Davontae, Cassidy and Heidi.  Dear sister of Glenna Edmonds.  Also survived by her goddaughter Linda Witteride and her many other nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  

Ann was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She left this world suddenly on December 18, 2023 at the age of 95 and ¾.

She was born to Timothy and Pearl Murphy on March 2, 1928 at home in Cheviot Ohio. Ann had 10 brothers and sisters.  After graduating from Mother of Mercy High School in 1947, she began working at McGregor Golf company.  She met her husband Gilbert J Volz and they were married on April 30 1949.  Together they had 3 children: Ann, Tom and Pam. There are 5 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Julie, Jennifer, Tommy and Jacqueline.  And 4 great grandchildren: Kaydrian, Davontae, Cassidy and Heidi.

Ann loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Anns’ greatest passion was her volunteering.  She was a member of the Selective Service board for 15 years, President of the National Association of Home Builders Women’s Auxiliary, Mother of Mercy High School Board of Trustees, and Mercy Hospital Western Hills Board of Trustees. 

Anns’ cheerful attitude, bright smile and her fiery spirit served to strengthen everyone she met, will be missed by all that knew her.  Godspeed to Gilbert’s arms Ann. 

Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 95 years of age.  Visitation at Our Lady of the Visitation Church 3172 South Rd., on FRIDAY from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.  Condolences may be sent at www.bjmeyer.com.
