STERN, Alma Amelia Hirsch Stern (nee Bock) died at Mercy West Hospital on November 28th 2014 in Cincinnati, OH due to complications following surgery. She was 89 years old. Alma was born on August 18th, 1925 in Cincinnati, OH to her parents, Peter and Amelia Bock. Before retiring in 1990, she was an employee of Shillito's, where for 30 years she worked with characteristic dedication and enthusiasm. She married beloved husband Albert J. Stern in 1990, and they lived happily together, managing West Fork Plant & Garden Store. She loved gardening, playing bridge with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren playing Scrabble. She had a fun-loving and effervescent spirit, as well as a lively sense of humor, which shone through in everything she did. She died peacefully, with dignity and grace. She was predeceased by brothers Carl H. and Robert Bock and husband Albert J. Stern. She is survived by daughters Dr. Paula K. Lundberg-Love and Pamela K. Allendorf, and son Christian M. Hirsch. She leaves behind her grandchildren Gregory R. and Alexander M. Allendorf, Victoria H. and Erika L. Bertocci, Christian A. Hirsch, Jill R. Wright, and great grandchildren Alexis M. and Lily R.Wright. Visitation B.J. Meyer Sons Memorial Center, 4841 Glenway Avenue, on Monday from 11:30AM until time of funeral service at 12Noon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the American Cancer Society.
